Guorui Art is one of the galleries affiliated to the Great Media Group and was preceded by “Shanghai Old Gallery”. The gallery’s owner, Yang Renrui, commenced collecting and managing art works in 1982. He started by collecting celebrities’ paintings and calligraphies. Upon the suggestion of Wu Zuoren and ShenRoujian, both former Chairmen of the Shanghai Artists Association, Yang Renrui began collecting oil paintings of Chinese artists of the senior generation who studied in France and Japan from 1986 onwards. Guorui Art focuses on the traditional, classical and realistic works. In addition to collecting classic works of artists of the senior old generation such as XuBeihong, Guan Liang, Pan Yuliang, and Wu Guanzhong, Guorui Art also commits itself to developing young artists from the art colleges nationally.
