SHANGHAI
Shanghai has a 700 year history and is once again one of East Asia's international financial centers. More recently, since China's reform and opening and especially since the 1990's when Shanghai implemented the national strategy of developing Pudong, the city's economy, social structure, and appearance have all undergone huge changes. Shanghai's foreign trade volume accounts for a quarter of the nation’s total and attracts the attention of the entire world. This brings China to be the second largest economy in the world and explains the massive foreign investments.

The Hurun Report, widely accepted as the most reliable rich-list in China, reveals that the 500 richest Chinese are now worth an average of $276 million. Many of them live or have residences in the city.
Shanghai has successfully hosted an APEC meeting, a Fortune Forum and other major international events in different fields. In 2010 Shanghai will host the World Expo.

Only 40 minutes away from Korea, 1 hour away from Japan, 2 hours 30 minutes away from Beijing, Hong Kong or Taiwan, the Shanghai airport has planes landing from all five continents.
